Christians Must Reject Companies that Go Woke

As Christians, we cannot participate in evil. This means we should think carefully and biblically about giving our money to companies that promote dangerous progressive ideas and sell merchandise that sexualizes children.

In preparation for “Pride month,” Target began selling a disturbing new “PRIDE” collection for children and babies, which includes gender-neutral apparel, “tuck-friendly” swimsuits, clothing with messages that promote homosexuality and transgenderism, and more.

The retailer even began selling merchandise from a brand that promotes messages such as “Satan respects pronouns,” “Gay as Hell,” and “Join My Gay Cult.” Following the news of this new collection, conservative activists called for a boycott of Target, and the store’s market value plummeted by $9 billion in one week.

The store did end up removing some of the items from its “PRIDE” collection following the public backlash. This means that people’s decision to shop at alternative stores— ones that aren’t promoting evil— has the power to send a real message to the stores that go “woke.”

Target isn’t the first company to experience the consequences of “going woke.” Consumers have been boycotting Bud Light after the brand chose transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney to be a brand ambassador. As a result, the company’s sales have plummeted over the last several weeks.

In addition, Starbucks, which is known for providing paid travel for employees to receive transgender surgeries, is advocating for the mutilation of children through commercials that are being aired globally. In the commercials, parents are shown affirming their son’s new “gender identity.”

As consumers, we have the power to endorse or reject certain messages based on where we choose to spend our money.

As often as possible, let’s continue to reject companies that sexualize children, promote sexual deviancy, advocate for the mutilation of children, or directly promote an ideology that is contrary to God’s design. This is our duty as Christians, and it can have a real impact.

First State Completely Bans TikTok

Last month, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte signed into law a bill that puts a complete ban on TikTok, making it the first U.S. state to impose a complete ban on the Chinese-owned video-sharing platform popular among both youth and adults in the United States. The ban on TikTok goes into effect on January 1, 2024, unless Congress passes a national law overriding it, or TikTok cuts its ties with China.

Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher calls TikTok “digital fentanyl that’s addicting Americans, collecting troves of their data, and censoring their news. It’s also an increasingly powerful media company that’s owned by ByteDance, which ultimately reports to the Chinese Communist Party—America’s foremost adversary.”

“Allowing the app to continue to operate in the U.S. would be like allowing the U.S.S.R. to buy up The New York Times, Washington Post, and major broadcast networks during the Cold War,” he continues. “No country with even a passing interest in its own security would allow this to happen, which is why it’s time to ban TikTok and any other CCP-controlled app before it’s too late.”

Wisconsin hasn’t yet completely banned this app that can spy on, track, and censor Americans. However, Governor Evers has banned it on all state-owned devices, and the University of Wisconsin has done the same. But that doesn’t mean it’s not on thousands of teens’ phones! Parents, be proactive and protective!

Wisconsin Reps Introduce “Embrace Them Both” Bill Package

Earlier this week, State Senator Romaine Quinn (R-Cameron) and Representatives Gae Magnafici (R-Dresser), Patrick Snyder (R-Schofield), Amanda Nedweski (R-Pleasasnt Prairie), and Donna Rozar (R-Marshfield) introduced “Embrace Them Both,” a bill package that recognizes that human life begins at conception and that pregnant women often need support both before and after their child is born.

The four-bill package adds clarifying language as to what is and isn’t an abortion, extends tax deductions for dependents to include unborn babies, grants $1 million per year to pregnancy care centers, and provides up to $5 million to help couples afford adoption.

“’Embrace Them Both’ embodies what we have always said being pro-life means—recognizing that human life begins at conception and that pregnant women often need support. These four bills encompass important aspects of the life issue from different perspectives,” said WFA President, Julaine Appling.

If we are going to create a culture of life in Wisconsin, policies that strengthen, preserve, and promote life, and also protect pregnant women are important. However, the most important work is done one-on-one as we win hearts and minds to the truth that all human life has worth and dignity.
